What were you doing before Symmetry and what was your approximate income?
Sports Performance Specialist at EXOS Training Facilities, I was making under 30k a year.
What attracted you to Symmetry Financial Group?
The ability to scale a business. I was looking for an opportunity that gave me more control of my income. Income based on the value I could bring to a team instead of what an employer decided they would pay me. And in doing so, turning my time into dollars.
How has your life changed since joining Symmetry?
My vision is clearer now. Focusing on what truly matters in my life, which at the moment is building quality relationships with people and empowering others. Because my quality of life has improved I’m no longer going about my day worried about bills and maintaining a consistent daily lifestyle, due to the income I’ve created in this business. That has opened up room in my life to be able to pour into people, not only in my business but also outside it.
The constant reminder of Symmetry’s Core Value #3, committing to self improvement, is something that I’ve grown to embrace and live by. Prior to Symmetry, developing a routine of self improvement outside of working out was something I had fallen out of. Because this culture keeps such strong values out in front of us, its the constant reminder that has kept me in a growth mindset. And that has tremendously impacted my business and helped me setup my life outside it.
What opportunities have you been able to do or provide because you started working with Symmetry Financial Group, that you likely would not have done or unable to in another career?
The ability to live life on my terms and give back. I like that now being in a position to help others I can do something about it, especially since I’ve received help by others in the past and it feels good to finally pay that forward.
I’ve had the time to train people in the Greater Houston area with a business partner of mine where we conduct bootcamps with 20+ people to promote active lifestyle. I’m also planning on Traveling to Kenya this summer for the first time, which is my parents birth country. Just excited for the future. I know this is just a stepping stone not a destination, and seeing the same results that I saw from my first corporate overview coming to pass in my own life is exciting. It just keeps getting better and better and I love the direction the Delaney Agency and Symmetry is heading.
What advice do you have for a new agent?
The biggest piece of advice I can give to any new agent is to Utilize your upline. Depending on your personality you may like to dive into things headfirst and ask questions later but don’t forget to reach out to your mentor for the course correction. One trait of a great leader is being humble enough to ask questions and never assuming you’re the smartest in the room. When you reach out to your mentor you’re getting the insight and guidance of someone who also has been in your shoes before and found success. No matter what successes you’ve had in your previous careers professionally, athletically, or otherwise a coach is there to push or pull you in the direction that will get you out of a rut and back into the game. “Don’t let Ego be the most expensive trait that you could ever own!”
