Before stepping into leadership and freedom, Aaron McLean served eight years in the U.S. Army. It’s a chapter that taught him discipline, perseverance, and grit. After leaving the military, he went to college, dropped out, sold cars, and, eventually, found his way into the insurance industry. But as Aaron puts it, “I didn’t find Symmetry. Symmetry found me. Through people who believed I could do more.”

It was his lifelong friend George Carter and mentor Jordan Mundt who showed him what was possible. At first, Aaron wasn’t convinced. He had already tried the insurance industry once and walked away thinking it wasn’t for him. But when he saw the vision Jordan cast, the idea that success here could be about impact and not just income, he decided to give it another shot.

That decision changed everything.

Aaron is the first to admit that his journey hasn’t been easy. “You’re going to experience quitting phases,” he says. “Not just yearly, sometimes daily.” He’s lived through them himself. In fact, he once quit completely. But that detour gave him something powerful: perspective.

“When I came back, I saw what I’d walked away from,” he reflects. “And that gave me a renewed focus. Now I help people push through their own quitting phases, so they don’t make the same mistake I did.”

Aaron’s story is one of radical ownership and transformation. From doubting his worth to becoming one of the Delaney Agency’s top producers and leaders, he’s learned that success is never about what you gain, it’s about what you give.

“What I wish I knew early on,” he says, “is that this business gets easier when you make it less about yourself and more about the people around you. True success isn’t measured by what you keep. It’s measured by what you give away.”

Through mentorship from Brian Delaney, Aaron learned how to lead with authenticity. “Brian didn’t just teach me business. He taught me how to be a better husband, father, and man,” Aaron shares. “He gave me a vision for my family and the belief that I could live it.”

Today, Aaron’s life is defined by freedom, impact, and family. “Now when my wife says she wants to do something, we can just go and do it,” he laughs. “That’s the dream, to give your family more than just time. To give them memories.”
