For more than a decade, Brandi Kimbrell worked in restaurant management 70-hour weeks, endless double shifts, and a schedule that left little room for her own life. “I was helping everyone else celebrate their milestones while missing all of mine,” she recalls. As a wife and mother of three, she felt the growing cost of success that came at the expense of family.
That’s when a familiar voice called: Jimmy Spieldenner, her former general manager who had joined Symmetry Financial Group. He told her about a company where leadership was built differently: a place where growth, family, and freedom could coexist. “He knew my work ethic,” Brandi says. “He knew I wanted more for my kids and my family.”
When she learned it was life insurance, she hesitated. “It didn’t sound glamorous,” she laughs. “But once I met the people, I was all in – chips in the middle.” The early days were humbling. There were long drives, empty days, and plenty of “goose eggs.” But Brandi stayed coachable, leaning on her mentor and applying every lesson. “There were quitting moments every day,” she admits, “but each time, I’d remember why I started and keep going.”
Her biggest breakthrough came when she embraced personal development and self-care principles she’d once resisted. “I was raised to always put my kids first. I thought taking care of myself was selfish. Brian Delaney helped me realize I can’t pour into others if my own cup is empty.” That mindset shift changed everything as an agent, leader, mother, and wife.
Today, nearly a decade later, Brandi leads her own agency and the life she once only imagined. “I used to work 70 hours a week for someone else. Now I get to be the mom who shows up at the games, the livestock shows, the school events.” Her oldest son now travels with her to conferences, seeing firsthand the life she built through belief and grit.
Grateful for mentors like Brian Delaney and the community that shaped her, Brandi pays it forward by mentoring others, especially women to build businesses and lives they’re proud of. “Women are incredible at this,” she says. “This business changes everything when you give yourself permission to believe you can do it too.”
